According to the latest statistics released by the National Radio and Television Administration, the total revenue of China's radio and television service industry reached 1002.924 billion yuan in the first three quarters of 2024, representing a year-on-year increase of 4.73%. This demonstrates a steady growth trend. Among this, actual revenue reached 895.982 billion yuan, a substantial year-on-year increase of 6.37%, indicating significant achievements in content innovation, market expansion, and user service by the radio and television service industry.
In terms of revenue structure, traditional radio and television institutions and online audio-visual service providers are showing a parallel development trend. The total revenue of traditional radio and television institutions reached 418.734 billion yuan, while the total revenue of online audio-visual service providers reached 584.19 billion yuan. The leading revenue of online audio-visual service providers reflects the rapid development of new media such as video websites and online live streaming in recent years, as well as the strong demand of users for diversified and personalized content.
In terms of content broadcasting, the total broadcasting time of radio programs reached 11.619 million hours, while the broadcasting time of television programs reached 13.7391 million hours, catering to the needs of different user groups. Radio and television institutions actively explore the application of new technologies, continuously improving content production levels and dissemination capabilities, providing audiences with higher quality audio-visual services.
In terms of users, by the end of September, the number of actual cable television users across the country reached 207 million, while the number of 5G users reached 29.3662 million. The radio and television service industry continues to expand its user base, actively promoting the integration of new technologies with traditional businesses, providing users with a more convenient and high-quality audio-visual experience.
