To further ensure flight safety, the design of the new aircraft model takes redundant backup of key subsystems as the core safety concept. Redundant backup is installed on key subsystems such as power, battery, flight control, sensors, and positioning, and a three-level safety guarantee system of "redundant backup operation, safe forced landing, and parachute opening" is pioneered in the industry; In terms of the safety control system of drones, the new model has also been strengthened, with multi-layer control and defense mechanisms such as personnel permissions, hardware, flight signals, and electronic fences set up.

Hu Meng, the hardware manager of Meituan UAV, stated that compared to the previous generation, the economy and environmental adaptability of the new model have been significantly improved. In addition to doubling its lifespan, the fourth generation drones can safely operate in multiple weather conditions such as moderate rain, snow, and force 6 winds from minus 20 degrees to 50 degrees Celsius. The delivery distance has been increased by 35%, up to 5 kilometers. At the same time, to provide users with a better experience, the design of foldable three leaf silent paddles has also reduced flight noise by 50%

In addition to the release of the fourth generation drones, Mao Yinian also introduced in detail the Meituan drone urban low altitude logistics solution consisting of three parts: unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), intelligent scheduling systems, and efficient operation systems. This solution can provide standard services for end-to-end retail goods delivery within 15 minutes within a 3-and-a-half-kilometer radius.

According to public reports, Meituan has been developing its own drone technology since 2017 and delivered its first order in Shenzhen in 2021, starting its normal operation.

During its two-year operation, Meituan drones have not only delivered various food and beverage takeaway and retail products to consumers such as office buildings and communities, but also continuously explored new needs to meet users' immediate needs. During this year's May Day holiday, Meituan opened its first drone delivery route within the scenic area at the Window of the World in Shenzhen, providing new services for new scenes such as camping attractions and theme parks that traditional delivery modes cannot reach.

As of now, Meituan drones have been put into operation in multiple commercial districts, scenic spots, residential areas, and other cities such as Shenzhen and Shanghai, with a cumulative delivery of nearly 170000 orders and a delivery capacity of nearly 20000 categories.
