Apple may launch its first curved screen phone as early as 2024: foldable and easy to carry

Although competitors Samsung and Motorola have already launched folding smart phones, Apple has not yet launched such products. However, a patent document recently released by Apple suggests that the company may be developing its first iPhone product with a screen that can curl.
Apple is scheduled to launch the iPhone 15 in September this year, but according to "spy photos" circulating on some websites, the iPhone 15 is likely to be a straight tube phone. External speculation suggests that Apple will not release its curved screen phones until 2024 at the earliest.
Apple has also applied for many patents that have never been converted into real world technology before, but the industry noticed that Apple applied for a "wear-resistant backplane" patent last month, which uses specially made beads to protect the soft parts of mobile phones, so that future iPhones can not be installed with a hard Mobile phone case. Some technology websites suspect that Apple products such as iPhone, iPad and MacBook can be transformed into "Plasticine" that can be folded freely in the future, which is convenient for users to carry around.

Recently, a new patent document submitted by Apple shows that in the future, iPhone phones can be bent around a shaft and rolled up like a carpet when stored. According to the design, the mobile phone display screen will be covered with a protective layer of glass to protect it from scratches and other damage when rolled up and unfolded.
The patent document states, 'The display screen can transition between the unfolded and rolled up states. In the unfolded state, the display screen is flat; in the rolled up state, the curlable part of the display screen is rolled up for storage.'
Apple's patent also suggests designing the interior of smartphones into multiple layers to prevent damage when rolled up and unfolded. The first layer can be made of various glass coatings; The second layer is made of polyimide. Polyimide is a kind of plastic, which is widely used in various fields, from aircraft parts to sporting goods; The third layer is the thinnest outer layer, made of polymers, which are common in plastic bags and clothing and have thermal and electrical insulation properties. This design can prevent relatively deep scratches from penetrating the outer surface of the glass layer, causing "screen" or other visible layer changes.
In June of this year, Apple's other "wear-resistant backplane" patent indicated that future iPhones may no longer require the installation of a hard shell. The combination of these two things has led to widespread speculation in the technology industry that Apple is really preparing for the comprehensive launch of foldable screen products.

This patent document called "Space Composite Material" shows a large area of "wear-resistant micro beads" smaller than the pencil tip arranged above the back panel of the iPhone to protect the softer part of the phone device casing. These small sized beads can be embedded in plastic materials.
The patent document also states that these exposed micro beads on the surface of mobile phones will shine like polished gemstones under appropriate lighting conditions. "These facets can reflect light in certain directions, resulting in an ideal appearance, reflection, image, or color
