The reporter learned from the Water Resources Department of the Autonomous Region that Nanning Hydrological Station has been listed as an important national hydrological station. The accumulated hydrological data for a century has been continuously applied to flood control, ecological restoration, river management, and comprehensive planning of the Yongjiang River. It has long played an important supporting role in flood control and water resource protection of the capital Nanning and towns along the river.

For example, in July 2001, the Yongjiang section experienced the largest flood since 1937. During this period, the Nanning Hydrological Station issued 13 hydrological forecasts with an accuracy rate of 92.1%, which won the initiative for Nanning's flood fighting and rescue work and greatly reduced the loss of people's lives and property.
