At the recently held 74th International Astronautical Congress (IAC), China's National Space Administration released an announcement on international cooperation opportunities for the Chang'e-8 mission. Chang'e-8 is planned to be launched around 2028, and will form the basic model of a lunar research station together with Chang'e-7 and others. This announcement indicates that the International Lunar Research Station, a major scientific project led by China and co built by multiple countries, is steadily advancing as planned, demonstrating China's open mindedness in promoting the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind.
This is an openness based on hard power. The construction of a lunar research station marks a new stage in China's lunar exploration industry. In 2004, China's lunar exploration project was officially approved and implemented. In 2007, Chang'e-1 was successfully launched. In the past 20 years, the lunar exploration project has won consecutive battles and successfully achieved the strategic goal of "circling, falling, and returning" in three steps.
