With these questions in mind, China Jilin Network found answers in the "China Petroleum Open Day Jilin Oilfield Media Autumn Tour" event.

In the interview, the reporter learned that in March of this year, Jilin Oilfield launched the construction of a zero carbon demonstration zone on platforms 1, 2, 3, and 16 of Xinli Oil Production Plant, the largest oil production platform cluster in Asia. After being put into operation, it achieved zero carbon production and zero carbon emissions in the block.

According to Zhang Chengming, Chief Engineer of Xinli Oil Production Plant in Jilin Oilfield, "zero carbon crude oil" refers to the use of clean energy supply for all energy consumption in crude oil production, achieving zero carbon emissions in crude oil production.

In the process of crude oil production, the use of new energy such as wind and photovoltaic power replaces traditional coal power, gradually reducing carbon dioxide emissions, and ultimately achieving zero carbon. The crude oil produced is also known as' zero carbon crude oil '. This is another major achievement in the ecological development and construction of green oil fields

The birth of "zero carbon crude oil" was not an overnight achievement, and Jilin Oilfield has developed a set of "combination fists". Firstly, in the process of capacity construction, 100% green electricity substitution is achieved for Block III of Xinli Oil Production Plant through the construction of wind and solar power storage to replace grid electricity. By replacing natural gas heating with geothermal, photothermal, and air source heat, we can achieve a clean replacement of thermal power in the block, which can replace 600000 cubic meters of natural gas annually. Simultaneously implementing CCUS to enhance oil recovery while achieving carbon sequestration. The ultimate goal is to achieve zero carbon emissions from block crude oil production, resulting in the birth of "zero carbon crude oil".

Green has become a bright background for the development of Jilin Oilfield.

On September 27th, the Fang52 geothermal project of Jilin Oilfield officially launched system trial operation, with Fang52-02 thermal well and Fang52-08 reinjection well put into operation simultaneously. The completion and operation of the "zero carbon" demonstration zone for the geothermal model of Jilin Oilfield marks another important breakthrough in the low-carbon development of this oilfield.

As of October 1st, the first large-scale green power self consumption project of PetroChina, the 150000 kilowatt wind and solar power generation project of Jilin Oilfield, had a cumulative power generation of over 200 million kilowatt hours that year, reducing oilfield production costs by about 80 million yuan, achieving an "acceleration" of clean substitution, and achieving excellent and practical results in the transformation and development of traditional oil and gas field enterprises towards green and low-carbon.

Why was the first barrel of "zero carbon crude oil" born in Jilin Oilfield?

This is the result of Jilin Oilfield actively promoting the transformation of green and low-carbon energy for many years, vigorously developing new energy business, and promoting the integration of oil, gas, and new energy development. Since 1990, Jilin Oilfield has been continuously tackling key issues for 30 years, leading the way through the entire CCUS process in China, accumulating rich experience and internationally leading technology.

In terms of wind energy, light energy, and geothermal resources, Jilin Oilfield is located in the core area of the 'Land Scenery Three Gorges' in Jilin Province. Its mining rights area is rich in surface and underground resources such as wind, light, and geothermal. In terms of CCUS, Jilin Daqingzijing Oilfield, which has the conditions for miscible flooding, is stacked up and down, and the geographical and resource advantages of developing CCUS projects to achieve carbon dioxide oil displacement and burial are very obvious Ma Xiaohong, Executive Deputy Manager of the New Energy Business Unit of Jilin Oilfield, told reporters.

The birth of the first barrel of "zero carbon crude oil" is of great significance. It has boosted the confidence and enthusiasm for the green and low-carbon transformation and development of the domestic energy industry. Based on the experience and practice of "zero carbon crude oil", in the future, low-carbon, zero carbon, and negative carbon oil fields will gradually emerge in China, promoting the transformation and upgrading of the energy industry, helping to achieve China's "dual carbon" goals, and providing a new model for the global energy revolution.

In the future, Jilin Oilfield will continue to "move forward with greenery", accelerate the integrated development of new energy and oil and gas industries, and deepen the construction of green and low-carbon demonstration zones.

New energy has been widely used in Jilin Oilfield, and most of the well pads in our operation area use electricity generated by ourselves. Nowadays, there are not only pumping units, but also photovoltaic panels and 'big windmills' on the well pads. "Yang Baosheng, the secretary of the Party branch of the West Second Production Zone in the first oil production area of Fuyu Oil Production Plant, proudly said of green electricity.
