The Beijing Huairou Comprehensive National Science Center is an important component of China's innovation system and a key support for Beijing's construction of an international science and technology innovation center. Nowadays, this is one of the regions with the widest coverage and highest concentration of disciplines in China. Major scientific and technological infrastructure clusters have taken shape, high-end technological innovation elements have accelerated gathering, scientific facility platforms are open and shared, and the construction of innovation ecology is accelerating. With the implementation and operation of major scientific facilities, the emergence of original innovative achievements has accelerated. From the acceleration of the first electron beam by a high-energy synchrotron radiation light source, to the first fully coupled simulation of atmospheric carbon dioxide concentration, and then to the independent development of a non liquid helium dilution refrigeration machine, more than 200 important scientific research achievements and 263 major invention patents have fully unleashed the vitality of original innovation.

The "national treasure" has strong appeal, gathering popularity and scientific research. Among the seven major technology facility platforms open to the world, in addition to the Earth system numerical simulation device and the comprehensive extreme condition experimental device, there are also five cross research platforms, including the Materials Genome Research Platform and the Clean Energy Materials Testing, Diagnosis and Research and Development Platform.
