Recently, the second phase of the China Shipbuilding Changxing Shipbuilding Base Phase 2 project undertaken by China Communications Third Navigation Bureau has been completed, and a super large shipyard has been added to the world-class marine equipment island.

Changxing Island, where the project is located, is one of the largest, most advanced, and internationally competitive shipbuilding bases in China. It enjoys the reputation of being a world-class marine equipment island and has 5 large shipyards, all built by China Communications Third Navigation Bureau.

Since the start of this project, the project team has always adhered to the construction concept of "meticulous construction and efficient performance", starting from optimizing construction organization and promoting process innovation. By using measures such as focusing on node objectives, fine construction control, and optimizing process plans, the team has overcome difficulties such as complex site, high construction risks, and multiple cross operations, and vigorously promoted engineering construction with a high sense of responsibility and mission.

Due to the fact that the dock chamber is located in the reclamation area, which is a sandy structure with loose soil, the project department adopts a combination of drainage and excavation at high places, while adding precipitation wells and drainage ditches to ensure uninterrupted drainage 24 hours a day. This not only improves construction efficiency but also provides safety assurance for foundation pit excavation. The project department also fully utilizes the terrain and sets up circular roads and material stacking platforms in layers, effectively improving the efficiency of earthwork transportation and equipment and materials usage.

With the joint efforts of team members, the project department completed several key nodes such as the pouring of the first and last bottom plates of the dock room in advance, which was fully recognized and praised by the owner in a letter. In the construction of the dock, it once again demonstrated the brand influence of the "Dock King" of China Communications Third Navigation Bureau.

The threshold of the dock entrance is the key to the dock's water stop, and its veneer consists of 118 granite blocks weighing 2 tons, with a total length of over 110 meters. In order to improve the installation accuracy of the veneer, the project team carried out technical research and developed a granite lifting installation guide frame based on the working principle of large gantry cranes. At the same time, the granite quality inspection specifications and pre assembly numbers are formulated, and the rigid fixation of angle steel bases and limit channel steel is utilized to reduce rock installation errors and provide strong support for the dock to achieve "no water leakage".

The project department continues to optimize the construction process, summarize the inspection results of various measures, strengthen the control of the "three inspections" system, finished product protection, material entry acceptance, key process listing acceptance, process handover inspection, and other links, strictly control each quality step, and solidly promote the construction of high standards and high-quality docks.

After the completion of the No. 2 dock project and the second phase of the base, it will further promote the intelligent construction of the Changxing Island Marine Equipment Base, achieve a leapfrog improvement in shipbuilding core capabilities, and become a new level and highlight of technological innovation and transformation development in China's shipbuilding industry during the 14th Five Year Plan period.
