Senior High School Graduate's Phone Guide: Redmi K70, iQOO Neo9 Pro, vivo X100 Pro, Which One Suits You?
A few days ago, I introduced the latest education discount policies from Apple and Huawei. At the same time, "How to choose a phone as a senior high school graduate" is one of the most frequently asked questions I've received recently. I also get this question from friends and family via WeChat. To be honest, for a moment, I felt like I was back to the time when I had just finished the college entrance exam and was choosing a phone. Ahem, lets get back on track. Since I've already brought this up, I can't just leave it hanging. Combining some recent good deals from various platforms, Ive selected some models that I personally think are worth getting. I won't say too much, but hopefully, this will be a little helpful to you in choosing your phone.
Around 2000 yuan: Redmi K70
In the price range of around 2000 yuan, Redmi's K series has always been one of the most reliable choices. Especially the K70 in this generation. In terms of configuration, it has Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, 2K Huaxing C8 straight screen, Guangying Hunter 800 main camera, and 120W fast charging. Except for the relatively small battery, everything else is top-notch. What's even more commendable is that I didn't expect Redmi phones to one day become the leader in texture in this price range. Especially the Bamboo Moon Blue version, the metal frame that came back after many years, paired with a slightly refreshing green color. The real phone might be more refined than many 3000 yuan phones.
During the recent 618 shopping festival, the K70 was the best-selling Android phone in the country. And the current price hasnt changed much from the 618 period. Its still a very worthwhile purchase. The 12+256 GB version can be grabbed for around 1900 yuan.
Around 2500 yuan: Redmi K70 Pro, iQOO Neo9 Pro
Redmi K70 Pro
Compared to the K70, the K70 Pro should have been a phone I criticized quite a bit this year. So why am I still recommending it this time? General Douglas MacArthur once said, There are no bad phones, only bad prices. I previously criticized the K70 Pro because I felt that for a 3000+ yuan phone, its imaging capabilities were a bit lacking compared to the competition. But now, in a corner that no one cares about, I discovered that it has quietly dropped to less than 2500 yuan.
Also sporting the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, compared to the few recently released new phones, the K70 Pro has the best 2K straight screen, arguably the best imaging, and decent texture. The main disadvantage is that the battery is indeed quite small, only 5000 mAh. But the price is a few hundred yuan cheaper, how would you choose?
iQOO Neo9 Pro
At around 2500 yuan, the iQOO Neo9 Pro is also a phone I highly recommend. Currently, the 12+512 GB version is priced at its lowest point at around 2570 yuan. Its appearance is exactly the same as the recently released Neo9S Pro+, the difference is only in the color. Comparing the configurations, one has the Dimensity 9300, the other has the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. I think the experience of the two is on par. The upgrade points of Neo9S Pro+ are mainly the ultrasonic fingerprint and a 340 mAh larger battery. Considering the price difference between the two of the same version (Neo9S Pro+ 12+512 GB 3299 yuan), I would say the Neo9 Pro is a better deal.
Around 3000 yuan: iQOO 12
If you are looking for a straight-screen phone that balances strong imaging capabilities, then the iQOO 12 might be one of the best choices. It features a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, 1.5K straight screen, and OV50H main camera + OV64B periscope telephoto lens. At this price point of around 3000 yuan, the iQOO 12 can provide a pretty good experience, whether youre playing games or taking pictures. And since it's still a flagship phone, the texture and visual appeal are also top-notch.
Although the amazing price during the 618 shopping festival has probably become a thing of the past, I think it's still alright to get the 16+512 GB version for around 3600 yuan. Oh, and the 1 TB version of this phone is not expensive either, around 3900 yuan.
Around 4000 yuan: vivo X100 Pro, OPPO Find X7 Ultra
vivo X100 Pro
As a real user who paid for two X100 Pro phones this year, I must recommend this phone again to those who want an imaging flagship. From the experience perspective, this phone can be summed up in three words: strong photography, strong battery life, smooth daily use. One-inch main camera + Zeiss APO telephoto lens, 5400 mAh Blue Sea battery, OriginOS4, really are something else. The only thing is the short-focus fingerprint sensor, which can be annoying. But considering its price is really good, Im willing to forgive it. The 16+512 GB version is now available for a little over 4500 yuan, which is almost a 1000 yuan drop from the initial price.
OPPO Find X7 Ultra
Since we're talking about imaging flagships, the OPPO Find X7 Ultra is definitely a phone you can't avoid. If it was the most tragic Ultra of the year back in the beginning of the year when it was selling for 5999 yuan and the system wasnt optimized, then now, with a price of only 4000+ yuan, a system that has undergone multiple rounds of major OTA updates, and improved imaging, it is undoubtedly the real hexagon warrior of today.
Let's mainly talk about imaging. From my personal experience, the only drawback of the Find X7 Ultra in terms of photography is the lack of a macro telephoto lens. Otherwise, whether its color, portrait, telephoto, or even video, I think its definitely at the top level. In terms of price, the 12+256 GB basic version has been selling for around 4699 yuan for a long time. It's a bit regrettable that, maybe because they have been clearing out inventory, the 512 GB version has been consistently priced high recently.
Some users might also be wondering how to choose between the X100 Pro and Find X7 Ultra. Ill give you all the most direct suggestion: If you need 512 GB, choose Vivo; if 256 GB is enough for you, choose OPPO.
Huawei Mate60 Series
Finally, a suggestion for those who want to buy a Huawei phone: I noticed that the Mate60 series prices have also collapsed recently. Take the Pro+ as an example, which originally started at 8999 yuan. It has now dropped by over 2000 yuan. If you are interested, you can pay attention to it.
Okay, thats all for today. Class dismissed!
