It remained in the top 20 on the hot search list until the morning of May 16th, indicating people's attention to this topic. At the same time, there is another topic on the list, "accidentally flipping over to the chairman's salary," which shows that the chairman's salary in January this year was 60000 yuan.
So, what level is the monthly income of 5000 yuan in China? What is the level of the chairman who earns 60000 yuan per month? Perhaps clues can be found in the financial reports of listed companies.
According to Wind data, among more than 5100 listed companies, nearly 80 of them have employees whose average monthly salary is below 6000 yuan.
The monthly salary of employees in listed companies is mostly between 10000 to 20000 yuan
Listed companies are the "fundamental driving force" of the economy, representing the top performers among enterprises. Compared to non listed companies, listed companies have certain advantages in terms of employee salary income.
As of the end of April, the financial reports of listed companies in the A-share market have been disclosed, and China First Financial has selected 5137 listed companies with relatively complete data as the statistical base. Last year, the total number of employees in 5137 listed companies was close to 30 million. So, what is the income level of these 30 million people?
According to incomplete statistics from Wind, in 2022, there were 44 listed companies with monthly per capita salaries of over 50000 yuan; There are 97 companies between 40000 and 50000 yuan; There are 221 listed companies between 30000 and 40000 yuan; There are 673 companies between 20000 to 30000 yuan; There are 2937 companies between 10000 yuan and 20000 yuan; There are 1165 companies with salaries below 10000 yuan, among which over 170 listed companies have employees with average monthly salaries below 7000 yuan, and nearly 80 have salaries below 6000 yuan.
It can be seen that over half of the employees of listed companies have an average monthly salary ranging from 10000 to 20000 yuan.
However, most listed companies with average salaries below 7000 yuan have unsatisfactory performance or have suffered consecutive losses, including 16 risk warning companies.
From an industry perspective, the salary of employees in the financial industry remains the highest, with the average monthly per capita salary of listed companies in the financial industry approaching 36000 yuan in 2022.
In the financial industry, securities firms have the highest salaries. Despite the overall salary reduction in the securities industry last year, the average annual salary of the vast majority of securities firm employees can still reach over 400000 yuan.
Among them, CITIC Securities ranks first with a per capita annual salary of 836400 yuan, with an average monthly salary of 69700 yuan; CICC ranks second with a per capita annual salary of 819600 yuan, with an average monthly salary of 68300 yuan; Guotai Jun'an ranks third with a per capita annual salary of 741900 yuan, with an average monthly salary of 61800 yuan.
The salary of banks is second only to that of securities firms in the financial industry. Last year, the average annual salary of most listed banks exceeded 300000 yuan, with CITIC Bank ranking first with an average annual salary of 624500 yuan and a monthly salary of 52000 yuan.
The salary in the insurance industry is the lowest among the financial industry, with the average annual income per capita of the six A-share listed insurance companies last year only ranging from 230000 yuan to 270000 yuan.
In addition to the financial industry, salaries in the real estate industry and the cultural, sports, and entertainment industries are also at a relatively high level, with the average monthly per capita salary in both industries exceeding 20000 yuan last year.
The industries with lower salaries include agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, fisheries, and accommodation and catering. The average monthly per capita salary of these two industries last year was only over 10000 yuan. Listed companies with per capita monthly salaries below 7000 yuan last year were mainly concentrated in agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, fisheries, and manufacturing.
In addition, employee salaries in different cities are highly correlated with regional purchasing power parity. For example, the average monthly per capita salary of listed companies in Shanghai and Beijing was close to 22000 yuan last year, while in Liaoning during the same period, it was less than 14000 yuan.
The chairman's annual salary is mostly between 500000 yuan and 200000 yuan
Compared to employee compensation, the chairman's compensation is more intuitive as it is directly included in the annual report.
According to incomplete statistics from Wind, in 2022, the annual salary of the chairmen of nearly 70 listed companies was less than 100000 yuan; There are 622 chairmen with annual salaries ranging from 100000 to 500000 yuan; There are 1498 people between 500000 yuan and 1 million yuan, 1252 people between 1 million yuan and 2 million yuan, and 312 people between 2 million yuan and 3 million yuan; There are 138 people between 3 million yuan and 4 million yuan; 65 out of 4 million to 5 million yuan; There are 77 people between 5 million yuan and 10 million yuan; And there are 28 people with an annual salary of over 10 million yuan.
Among them, Zhou Fugui, the chairman of Sany Heavy Energy (688349. SH), and GeLi, the chairman of WuXi KangDe (603259. SH), respectively, ranked in the top two with annual pre tax compensation of 42.3561 million yuan and 41.969 million yuan. If calculated based on daily salary, the two chairmen earn 116000 yuan and 115000 yuan respectively.
It can be seen that more than half of the chairman's salary range of listed companies is between 500000 yuan and 200000 yuan, and the above-mentioned chairman with a monthly salary of 60000 yuan is also included. In addition, there are also a considerable number of chairmen who have not received compensation from listed companies.
