On December 12th, the third meeting of the third council of the International New Energy Solutions Platform (INES) was grandly convened in Beijing. Hosted by China Power Construction International Corporation Limited (PowerChina International), and co-hosted by Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. (Huawei) and Mingyang Smart Energy Group Co., Ltd. (Mingyang Smart), the meeting brought together over 100 representatives from 33 member units of the platform. Themed "Joint Innovation for a Carbon-Neutral Future," the meeting aimed to explore trends in the new energy sector, deepen industry chain cooperation, and jointly promote the global development of the new energy industry.

The meeting commenced with opening remarks from Tang Yuahua, Chairman of the INES Platform and General Manager of PowerChina International; Shi Yonghong, Vice President of the China Chamber of Commerce for Import & Export of Machinery and Electronic Products; Sun Xiaofeng, President of Huawei's Intelligent PV Business; and Ye Fan, Vice President of Mingyang Smart. They jointly offered perspectives on the future development direction of the INES Platform.

In his address, General Manager Tang Yuahua reviewed the development of the INES Platform since its establishment in 2017. He noted that the platform's member enterprises had grown from an initial seven to 33 today, encompassing excellent enterprises across the entire industry chain, including new energy investment and development, equipment manufacturing, construction and operation, and finance and insurance. This has made the platform a significant force in driving the going global of China's new energy industry. He emphasized that the global economy is currently undergoing a crucial period of transformation from old to new growth engines, with new energy technological innovation leading the global energy transition, presenting both unprecedented opportunities and challenges. To this end, General Manager Tang Yuahua issued three proposals:

First, anchoring the "dual carbon" goal and cultivating a distinct character of high-quality development. This requires member enterprises to place the national "dual carbon" goal at the core of their development strategies, adhere to the concept of sustainable development, and prioritize environmental protection and social responsibility while pursuing economic benefits.

Second, increasing cooperation efforts and vigorously expanding third-party market cooperation. Faced with the enormous potential of the global new energy market, the INES Platform needs to strengthen cooperation among member enterprises, jointly develop international markets, actively participate in the construction of global new energy projects, and enhance the competitiveness of Chinese new energy enterprises on the international stage.

Third, strengthening innovation and application and effectively promoting project implementation. Technological innovation is the key driving force for the development of the new energy industry. General Manager Tang Yuahua called on member enterprises to strengthen technological research and development and application, and promote the transformation of innovative achievements into productive forces, ensuring the smooth landing and efficient operation of new energy projects.

Shi Yonghong, Vice President of the China Chamber of Commerce for Import & Export of Machinery and Electronic Products, highly praised the contributions of the INES Platform in his address. He pointed out that with the improvement of China's industrial advantages and enterprise capabilities, new energy has become a globally competitive advantage industry for China. Since its establishment, the INES platform has been committed to building a mutually beneficial cooperation platform that effectively integrates international new energy industry supply and demand, using global high-quality capital and leading power technology as a link. The concept of "resource sharing, complementary advantages, and value creation" has been widely echoed, attracting more and more high-quality enterprises to join the platform, promoting the synergistic development of the new energy industry chain, and making positive contributions to the joint development of the international new energy market and the innovation of global cooperation models for industry chain and supply chain.

During the meeting, Li Sisheng, Vice General Manager of PowerChina International and Executive Vice Chairman of the Platform, presided over the council's deliberation of items, successfully approving the membership application of Shandong Electric Power Construction Third Engineering Co., Ltd., and related matters concerning changes in council personnel. Lin Tao, Secretary-General of the INES Platform, presented the 2024 work report on behalf of the platform secretariat, providing a detailed report on cooperation in 2024 and work arrangements for the following year. In the subsequent closed-door meeting and discussion session, representatives from various enterprises shared ideas and suggestions for the future development of the INES Platform, creating a lively atmosphere.

In addition to the council's deliberation, the meeting also invited representatives from numerous financial institutions, investment institutions, industry associations, industry think tanks, equipment manufacturers, and EPC contractors, both inside and outside the platform, to participate. Attendees engaged in in-depth exchanges on current hot topics in the new energy industry, sharing their experiences and insights in their respective fields.

In a roundtable discussion, four experts from Mingyang Smart, China Power Construction Group Jiangxi Provincial Power Construction Co., Ltd., Beijing Shuangjie Electric Co., Ltd., and Xi'an Longi Hydrogen Energy Technology Co., Ltd., engaged in in-depth discussions on industry self-discipline, technological and model innovation, and win-win cooperation, offering policy recommendations for industry development.

In a special report session, five experts from Sinosure, Jiangsu Zhongxinbo New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., Mingyang Smart, Renjie Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., and DNV (Det Norske Veritas) shared insights on insurance policies, innovative technologies, intelligent operation and maintenance, and offshore wind power, providing attendees with cutting-edge technological information and market analysis.

During the meeting, PowerChina International signed cooperation agreements with Mingyang Smart and Shanghai Kang Heng Environmental Co., Ltd., signifying further deepening of cooperation in the overseas new energy sector and the commencement of a new chapter of strong alliances, laying a solid foundation for mutual benefit and win-win outcomes.

The INES Platform was established in July 2017 by PowerChina International Corporation Limited, China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation, Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., Goldwind International Holdings (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd., LONGi Green Energy Technology Co., Ltd., and China Power Construction Group Guizhou Engineering Co., Ltd. After eight years of development, the INES Platform has grown to encompass 33 member enterprises, covering investment, construction, and operation across the entire industry chain in wind power, photovoltaics, concentrated solar power, energy storage, garbage power generation, and hydrogen energy, making significant contributions to the international development of China's new energy industry. The successful convening of this meeting further consolidated the INES Platform's leading position in the international new energy field and injected new vitality into the promotion of global new energy industry development. Attendees unanimously expressed their intention to continue working together to promote the high-quality development of the new energy industry and contribute to the realization of the "dual carbon" goal. The meeting concluded successfully in a warm atmosphere.
