On May 5th, Red Star Capital Bureau reported that some of the shares held by Dong Mingzhu, Chairman and President of Gree Electric Appliances (000651. SZ), have been frozen.

According to Gree Electric's quarterly report,As of the end of the first quarter, Dong Mingzhu held 44.4885 million shares, with a shareholding ratio of 0.79%, of which 11.5 million shares were frozen.

Calculated based on Gree Electric's closing price on May 4th (35.42 yuan/share),The market value of Dong Mingzhu's frozen shares is approximately 407 million yuan.

Red Star Capital Bureau has noticed that Gree Electric's 2022 annual report and first quarter report were both released at the end of April. According to the 2022 annual report, as of the end of 2022, Dong Mingzhu's shares have not been pledged or frozen.

That is to say, the freezing of some of Dong Mingzhu's shares occurred in the first quarter of this year.

On May 5th, Red Star Capital Bureau called Gree Electric's investor service hotline as an investor. The staff who answered the call said they had also seen the relevant situation and needed to verify the reason for the freeze with the relevant staff.
