On September 12, Irina Bokova, former Director-General of UNESCO, visited the Beijing International Science and Technology Organization Headquarters Cluster located in the Dong Lake International Center, Chaoyang District, Beijing. Bokova toured the office spaces of international science and technology organizations and engaged in discussions with more than ten organizations, including the International Organization for Interdisciplinary Sciences and the International Society for Digital Earth.
During her visit, Bokova learned about the office facilities, international exchange, and personnel movement within the cluster. She expressed her appreciation for the cluster's gathering of numerous international science and technology organizations, noting its significance in encompassing various emerging fields and industries, reflecting the new developments in the field of scientific and technological innovation.
Bokova highly commended the efforts of these international organizations in promoting open, trustworthy, and collaborative interactions within the global scientific and technological community. The Beijing International Science and Technology Organization Headquarters Cluster officially opened in May of last year and currently houses 12 organizations, including international science and technology organizations, Beijing representative offices of foreign non-governmental organizations in the field of technology, and international scientific program offices. The establishment of the cluster aims to provide a conducive working environment and development platform for international science and technology organizations, promoting international technological collaboration and driving innovation in scientific and technological development.
