It is reported that the application of phased array radar in the security of cultural relics in large site areas on plains can make up for the shortcomings of existing security systems, and achieve large-scale, 24-hour real-time active warning of cultural relics theft activities in fields with low cost and low false alarm rate. As the country accelerates the promotion of military technology to the civilian field, the development prospects of the civilian radar industry are broad. Introducing it into the field cultural relic security system for application research is still the first time in China.

In recent years, Shaanxi has continuously strengthened the crackdown on illegal and criminal activities related to cultural relics, and accelerated the construction of a security system for field cultural relics. In June 2020, the Provincial Academy of Cultural Heritage, in collaboration with Xi'an University of Technology, proposed the "Application Research of Phased Array Radar in Field Cultural Relics Security" project, which was subsequently approved by the Shaanxi Provincial Cultural Relics Bureau. From 2020 to 2022, the project team conducted extensive visits and research on grassroots field cultural relics protection units in the province, summarized the main problems and actual needs of field cultural relics security, combined with various expert opinions, completed the project plan tasks, and achieved phased results.

Experts evaluate the project by listening to reports, reviewing materials, and conducting on-site consultations. Experts attending the meeting believe that the project is forward-looking and feasible, and can to some extent solve key issues in the security of field cultural relics; The project has completed the research content according to the requirements of the project initiation indicators, achieved the expected goals, and passed the acceptance. At the same time, it is recommended to further deepen research in the future, strengthen the linkage and integration with existing security technology and prevention measures, improve data information security and target identification rate, reduce false alarm rate, and ultimately achieve achievement transformation and demonstration application promotion.
