On July 4th, according to a technology patent published by the United States Trademark and Patent Office (USPTO), Apple has recently obtained a new technology patent called "Borderless Display with Light Bending Structure". The patent suggests that Apple may be developing borderless Macs and iPads.

According to the patent abstract, this technology involves a display screen that can be installed in an electronic device casing, with a display pixel array used to provide image light to users. The display pixel array can form a rectangular shaped active display structure and use optical structures (such as glass sheets or other optical components) as passive bounding boxes. The area of optical components may be larger than the area of active display structures, thus potentially expanding the surface size of the display.
