At 10:30 on July 20, the first Wanmike exploration well in the world with the most complicated geological conditions and the highest drilling difficulty - Shendi Chuanke Well 1 was drilled in the Sichuan Basin.

The well is located in the Jiange buried structure in the northwest of Sichuan Basin. The ground elevation is 717m, the design well depth is 10520m, and the drilling is completed in the pre Sinian system 20m. Multiple sets of high-quality reservoirs are stacked in the ultra-deep layer of the region, with superior reservoir formation conditions. Once successful, it is possible to discover new ultra-deep scale natural gas storage target areas.

Ten thousand meter deep oil and gas drilling is a super project in the global oil and gas exploration field, facing many world-class problems, and has become one of the important indicators to measure the level of technology and equipment of a country or Enterprise engineering. Zhao Luzi, a technical expert at PetroChina Southwest Oil and Gas Field Company, introduced that "due to its complex geological structure, the Shendi Chuanke 1 well has been standardized against 13 global engineering difficulty indicators, of which 7 difficulty indicators rank first in the world.

According to expert estimates, the pressure system faced by Well Shendi Chuanke 1 is as high as 10 sets, 2-5 times that of other ten thousand meter deep wells, making it the most complex ten thousand meter deep well in the global pressure system. The vertical irregular and frequently changing pressure coefficient will bring unprecedented challenges to drilling engineering. Moreover, under 10000 meters, the high temperature of 224 degrees Celsius can make metal drilling tools as soft as noodles. The 138 MPa ultra-high pressure environment is like deep diving into the deep sea of 13800 meters, far exceeding the sea water pressure of the Mariana Trench, the deepest part of the earth's ocean, which is prone to complex accidents such as wellbore collapse, blowout and leakage, and material failure.

The implementation of Shendi Chuanke 1 Well has opened up a new field of major strategic succession for China's onshore ten thousand meter ultra deep strata, which will further reveal the evolution secrets under the Sinian strata, and is of great significance for exploring ten thousand meter ultra deep scale oil and gas resources, innovating and forming China's ultra deep oil and gas accumulation geological theory, and promoting the progress of China's oil and gas engineering core technology and equipment capabilities.
