Beijing, October 10th (Xinhua) - There is a whale academic research center called "Senpu Bay Whale Sea" in Taiji Town, Wakayama Prefecture, Japan. Not only are there over 100 small cetaceans living here, but they also play an important role in the breeding and management of whale trainers.

According to a Japanese headline report, there is a Chinese trainer at the Whale Academic Research Center, Zheng Zehong, who just went there in September this year. It is understood that although Zheng Zehong did not join the "Senpu Bay Whale Sea" for a long time, he quickly mastered a series of work essentials from food preparation to whale training, and was not behind other trainers.

In fact, this is not Zheng Zehong's first visit to Taiji Town.

Previously, Taiji Town signed an agreement with a Chinese aquarium to collaborate on dolphin training and trainer training. Zheng Zehong was once a trainer at the aquarium and one of the trainees who went to Taiji Town for training before its opening in 2017.

In 1997, Zheng Zehong was born in a seaside town in Guangdong and has been living there ever since. Therefore, the sea and marine life are both familiar things to him. Zheng Zehong developed a strong interest in dolphins when he was in middle school and decided to become a dolphin trainer in the future. It is said that Zheng Zehong became interested in dolphins because he saw a dolphin performance online and was deeply attracted by the scene of dolphins jumping. Afterwards, he studied aquaculture and diving techniques at Guangdong Ocean Engineering Vocational and Technical School, and began preparing for work as a dolphin trainer.

The training in Taiji Town gave Zheng Zehong the opportunity to learn various aspects of whale tamer work through lectures and practical training. Even in environments with cultural and linguistic differences, the humble and serious Zheng Zehong left a deep impression on his colleagues. Zheng Zehong recalled those days and said, "The discipline, work planning, and sense of responsibility of the Japanese have left a deep impression on me. I believe I have made progress in learning their breeding and training methods

In September of this year, Zheng Zehong went to Taiji Town as an official trainer. He stated that his goal this time is to further refine his dolphin domestication skills.

I hope to contribute to talent cultivation and ocean education through exchange activities, "said Osamu Inamori, the director of the Taiji City Whale Museum
