Cross border e-commerce enters a window of innovative development

The connotation and characteristics of new e-commerce have become more diverse and prominent. At the same time, the continuous breakthroughs in cutting-edge digital technologies such as big data, artificial intelligence, ChatGPT, metaverse, and digital twins have also provided new possibilities for innovative application scenarios in new e-commerce.
The "China New E-commerce Development Report 2023" released on the main forum pointed out that since the Second China New E-commerce Conference in July 2022, the international and domestic situation has undergone new complex and profound changes, and China's new e-commerce is moving forward in challenges and maturing in development.
Jiang Xiaojuan, President of the China Society of Industrial Economics, Professor at the University of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and former Deputy Secretary of the State Council, believes that in recent years, e-commerce has developed rapidly, mainly through digital technology to optimize international transactions and production processes, reduce transaction and production costs, optimize supply and demand matching, and efficiently allocate various cross-border resources, It has played a very important role in China's foreign trade and the two-way flow of cross-border funds.

Rural e-commerce connects the "first mile" of agricultural product sales
Research shows that after more than 20 years of continuous innovation and development, China has become the world's largest e-commerce country for agricultural products. Zheng Wenkai, Chairman of the China Rural Development Foundation, stated that the foundation fully leverages the digital and intelligent advantages of new e-commerce enterprises, actively introduces smart agriculture and digital rural construction, participates in the construction of livable, suitable for work, and beautiful rural areas, and contributes to promoting sustainable rural development.
In 2023, the No. 1 central document put forward four requirements for promoting high-quality development of rural industries. Connect with small-scale suppliers from thousands of households to form a large market with direct agricultural product production and sales in the cloud, thereby solving the problem of scattered and insufficient scale of small-scale farmers, running through the entire agricultural chain of production, supply chain, circulation, and consumption, strengthening supply and demand matching, and promoting high-quality development of agricultural products on the production and consumption ends.
Artificial intelligence triggers a new wave of e-commerce
New demands give birth to new technologies and support new development. Since the beginning of this year, a new wave of technology represented by artificial intelligence has swept the world, and generative artificial intelligence (AIGC) has become a new milestone in general artificial intelligence technology, driving the e-commerce industry into a new track.

Liu Feng, co-founder of Worth Buying Technology, believes that digital technology has become a new production factor and reshaped the marketing landscape of the consumer industry. Brands and enterprises should build an omnichannel operation system, comprehensively collect data and more effective application data, and actively embrace AI and big models.
In the era of digital economy, how can enterprises or brands seize digital opportunities based on this rapid change? Liu Feng stated that the first step is to build an omnichannel operation system. To achieve long-term development, we cannot rely solely on one or two channels, but should achieve as many channels as possible.
