Recently, Liu Rui, a 21st grade master's student in the "Intelligent Sensing and Operation and Maintenance of High end Equipment" technology innovation team of the Hunan Key Laboratory of Mechanical Equipment Health Maintenance at Hunan University of Science and Technology, made new progress in the field of turbocharger compressor blade erosion damage. The related research results are titled "Study on the Influence of Surface Roughness on the Erosion Characteristics of Compressor Blades", Published in the top international academic journal in the field of engineering technology, PowderTechnology (TOP, IF: 5.6, non open source).

Turbochargers have the characteristics of high power output, low energy consumption, and low pollution, and are widely used in power equipment such as automotive engines and marine internal combustion engines. For high-speed turbocharger compressors, compressor blade wear is the most common fault in use. When the compressor operates in harsh environments such as high dust and deserts, its blades may be eroded by small particles or corroded by salt mist, increasing the surface roughness of the blades, which will exacerbate the wear of compressor blade particles. Long term accumulation can lead to turbocharger malfunctions, such as rotor vibration and noise, thereby reducing the overall performance and service life of the turbocharger.

This research has been supported by projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China (No.52075165, 52175091) and the Key R&D Plan of Hunan Province (No.2022GK2023). It is reported that Liu Rui has participated in the application for scientific research projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China. As a core technical personnel, he has participated in key projects related to blade erosion damage and vibration testing by enterprises such as Ningbo Fengwo Turbocharger System Co., Ltd. and CRRC Times New Materials. He has accumulated rich experience in paper publication, patent writing, project research, simulation analysis, and engineering testing.
