The WeChat iOS app has received a new update today, version 8.0.52. According to the official changelog, this update primarily addresses known issues and optimizes various functions. Most notably, users can now view the specific time they became friends with someone on their social profile.

Steps to View Friend Add Time:

1. Open the WeChat app and go to "Contacts".

2. Select the friend you want to view, and click "More Info".

3. On the "More Info" page, you can find and view the "Add Time".

It's worth noting that this new feature is currently in a gray-scale test phase, meaning only a portion of iOS users will have access to it. The WeChat team plans to gradually expand its availability in the future.

Apart from viewing friend add time, the update also enhances the Moments feature by allowing the sending of Live Photos. This functionality is being rolled out progressively to iOS 8.0.51 and above users.

While Android users will have to wait for now, the WeChat team is expected to bring this update to the Android platform soon.
