Tencent's Palm Payment Technology Goes Global: Partnership with Visa Launches New Era of International Payments in Singapore
On November 6th, at the 9th Singapore Fintech Festival, Tencent officially announced the launch of its international expansion plan for its Palm Payment technology. Tencent announced a partnership with Visa to introduce Palm Payment technology to the international payment market, with Singapore being the first launch location.
Through its wholly-owned subsidiary TencentSenseTech in Singapore, Tencent will provide Palm Payment technology services to clients across various industries. They will offer technical support, diverse services, and ensure data localization. Tencent also invites industry clients and partners to explore applications of Palm Payment technology in various scenarios.
DBS, OCBC, and UOB banks in Singapore are the first to join the initiative, enabling participating users to make payments using Palm Payment technology at the AIchemist coffee shop in Singapore. The expansion plans for this project will be announced later.
By following the instructions displayed on the Palm Payment device screen, users can complete the linking process between their bank card and personal palm information in one step. After that, users only need to identify their palms from a distance, eliminating the need for phones or wallets, allowing for quick and seamless payment transactions.
Technically, Tencent's Palm Payment technology also utilizes the "fingerprint + palm vein" dual-factor identification method. The unique palm ID and real-time liveness verification ensure a frictionless, contactless, and high-precision user experience. Additionally, Tencent's advanced security technology and financial risk control capabilities are integrated. User data is encrypted and transmitted in an irreversible manner, effectively preventing attacks from various forgery information sources, guaranteeing comprehensive user payment security.
Within China, Tencent continuously promotes the establishment of industry standards and takes the lead in developing industry standards for Palm Payment technology. In the future, Tencent will continue to conduct in-depth research, driving industry development through technological innovation.
The launch of Tencent's Palm Payment technology in Singapore signifies Tencent's official entry into the international payment market, providing safer and more convenient payment services to global users. This partnership marks the expansion of application scenarios for Palm Payment technology, indicating its potential to be widely adopted in various fields in the future.
Advantages of Tencent's Palm Payment Technology:
- Secure and Reliable: It employs "fingerprint + palm vein" dual-factor identification, coupled with advanced security technology and financial risk control capabilities, ensuring user payment security.
- Convenient and Efficient: Users no longer need phones or wallets, only identifying their palms from a distance to complete payments.
- Wide Applicability: It can be applied in various scenarios, including catering, retail, transportation, medical care, and more.
Significance of Tencent's Palm Payment Technology Going Global:
- Driving the Development of the International Payment Market: Providing safer and more convenient payment services to global users.
- Promoting Technological Innovation: Expanding the application scenarios of Palm Payment technology.
- Enhancing User Experience: Providing users with more convenient and efficient payment methods.
Tencent's Palm Payment Technology internationalization plan is not only an extension of Tencent's own development strategy but also a significant initiative to drive global payment market development. In the future, Tencent will continue to delve into Palm Payment technology, bringing safer and more convenient payment experiences to global users.
