The HEPS linear accelerator is the source of electrons and a primary accelerator. The construction team planned in advance, organized carefully, and basically completed the construction task according to the plan. Pan Weimin, the commander in chief of the HEPS project, said that in order to better optimize the beam parameters of the linear accelerator, improve the efficiency of the construction and adjustment of the intensifier and storage ring, and better complete the construction task of the HEPS device, the engineering command center has strengthened process management and organized special process testing and acceptance of the linear accelerator.
The process acceptance team consists of academicians and experts in accelerator fields such as Zhan Wenlong, Chen Senyu, Chen Hesheng, Xia Jiawen, Zhao Hongwei, Zhao Zhentang, Deng Jianjun, Feng Donglai, Tang Chuanxiang, Liu Kexin, Wang Dong, He Yuan, etc. The acceptance team listened to the report of Li Jingyi, the head of HEPS linear accelerator, on the construction of linear accelerator design, equipment development, installation, beam adjustment, etc, Report on the process testing situation by Chen Huaibi, the leader of the process testing team. After careful discussion and evaluation, the acceptance team unanimously recognized the process test results, and all indicators met or exceeded the approved acceptance indicators. The overall performance reached the international advanced level of similar equipment, and it was agreed that the HEPS linear accelerator passed the process acceptance.
The experts of the acceptance team believe that the HEPS linear accelerator team has completed the construction task with high quality. Through independent innovation and integrated innovation, it has achieved a series of achievements such as independently developing the upper beam tuning software platform and physics oriented beam tuning software, independently developing the cathode grid module, high-power solid-state modulator based on Insulated-gate bipolar transistor, internal water cooling, arc cavity and high gradient acceleration structure of symmetrical power coupler, This ensures the high-energy stability of the linear accelerator and improves the acceleration efficiency.
