On June 11th, IT Home reported that Apple officially launched its first MR (Hybrid Reality) head display product, AppleVisionPro, at this week's WWDC23 Developer Conference. This is an innovative device that integrates virtual reality and augmented reality functions, and will be released in the United States early next year. However, Apple may face an awkward issue in the domestic market, which is that the name "VisionPro" has already been registered as a trademark by Huawei in advance.
According to the query results from China Trademark Network by IT Home, Huawei successfully applied for the VisionPro trademark as early as May 16, 2019, and the exclusive right period of the trademark is as long as 10 years, from November 28, 2021 to November 27, 2031. This trademark belongs to International Classification 9 and covers various goods and services such as LCD TVs, headworn virtual reality devices, and radio equipment. This means that Apple's use of the name "VisionPro" in China may be suspected of infringing Huawei's trademark rights, so Apple VisionPro may switch to another name when it is launched in China.
It is worth noting that,Huawei's registration of the VisionPro trademark is not aimed at Apple, but is related to its own product lineAfter all, Huawei probably wouldn't have known in advance that Apple would launch VisionPro. Huawei has currently launched two products related to "Vision", namely Huawei's first intelligent viewing glasses, VisionGlass, and Huawei's Vision smart screen series. VisionPro may be a name reserved by Huawei for its smart screen series in advance. At present, Huawei has not announced whether it has plans to launch its own MR head display products.
