The four year global metal industry professional exhibition, Dusseldorf International Casting, Metallurgy, Heat Treatment, and Precision Casting Exhibition, opened on June 12th in Dusseldorf, Germany, with over 2100 exhibitors from 53 countries and regions worldwide participating. The 5-day exhibition focused on the display and exchange of new technologies and trends in decarbonization, ecological metals, circular economy, Digital transformation and other industries in the metallurgical industry.

Entering the Dusseldorf Convention and Exhibition Center, the slogan "Welcome to the Bright Metal World" is particularly prominent. This exhibition consists of four major sections: casting, metallurgy, heat treatment, and precision casting, promoting the green transformation of the global steel industry is a major theme of the exhibition. According to data released by the exhibition organizers, 7% of global carbon emissions are generated by the steel industry. With the rise of global energy prices, energy conservation and decarbonization in the steel industry are urgent.

Metallurgical equipment manufacturers such as Simak, Danieli, and Pratt have all demonstrated zero carbon production technology solutions based on hydrogen energy. The person in charge of the booth of Symac Group told the reporter that the group had signed a contract with ThyssenKrupp Steel Group to design and build a hydrogen energy direct reduction plant for Duisburg Steel Plant. After this industrial decarbonization project is put into operation, it is expected to reduce carbon emissions by over 3.5 million tons annually. Martin Turing, Executive Director of the German Steel Federation, stated that approximately 50% of primary steel production in Europe can be converted to direct reduction processes, which can reduce carbon emissions by over 20 million tons per year with sufficient hydrogen supply.

More than 600 Chinese exhibitors participated in this exhibition, accounting for nearly one-third of the total number of exhibitors, covering the entire industrial chain of raw materials, equipment, and other upstream and downstream industries. Multiple Chinese exhibitors have positioned themselves at the center of the main exhibition area with their technological advantages in fields such as new energy vehicles, attracting numerous customers to come for negotiations.

In front of the booth of the Chinese die-casting machine manufacturer Yizhimi Group, the "ultra large integrated die-casting" jointly completed by the group and a Chinese vehicle manufacturing enterprise received widespread attention upon its debut. Zhang Dunji, Product Manager of the Yizhimi Die Casting Machine Business Unit, told reporters that this product is an integrated die-casting automotive rear floor and is one of the largest large-scale integrated die-casting structural components in the world. Integrated die-casting technology is a key technology for manufacturing new energy vehicles. The total weight of the aluminum alloy rear floor assembly using this technology can reach one-third of the steel structure, and the production time is shortened from two hours to three minutes. At the same time, it significantly reduces the number of body parts and welding points, effectively reducing energy consumption and costs.

The booth of Chinese die-casting mold manufacturer Guangxing Technology has also attracted many customers to take photos for consultation. The company has established cooperative relationships with multiple well-known car companies worldwide and has become one of the well-known suppliers in the global new energy vehicle manufacturing field.

Matt Seyfert, Director of Metals and Energy at Dusseldorf Exhibitions, stated that innovation in the foundry industry is of great significance for value growth in all industrial sectors and is a key measure to address current industrial production issues. He gave an example: "Without innovation in the foundry industry, it would be difficult to address challenges such as the transformation of electric vehicles, energy transformation, and industrial decarbonization
