According to Wang Nan, a reporter from Global Network Technology, "The main focus of Hisense's future development is overseas. The future market for intelligent transportation is also overseas." Mou Sangang, the general manager of Hisense's international business department, stated in an interview that China's intelligent transportation applications, technological innovation, and actual application effects are not inferior to those of overseas countries, and some aspects are even ahead. We have a strong technological foundation and rich experience accumulation in the field of intelligent transportation. Hisense has the ability to quickly replicate the experience, technology, and engineering accumulated domestically to overseas markets

Not long ago, Hisense Smart Transportation successfully won the bid for the sustainable urban transportation project in Vientiane, Laos after winning the bid for smart buses, smart highways, and urban traffic signal control systems in Ethiopia. The rapid transit BRT successfully sailed to Laos and won the first order from Southeast Asian countries.

Data shows that Laos is the only landlocked country in Southeast Asia, with relatively lagging economic development, incomplete infrastructure, and inconvenient public transportation. The tourism industry is an important pillar of Laos' economic development, but due to the problem of lagging transportation development, public transportation from the capital Vientiane Wadai International Airport to popular attractions such as the Vientiane Tower and Arc de Triomphe is extremely inconvenient, which has affected the development of Laos' tourism industry. Transportation has become an invisible obstacle to local economic development.

Regarding this, Yuan Kun, the senior sales manager of Hisense Network Technology Company, who was the first to travel to Vientiane, Laos, has a deep impression. "Walking on the streets of Vientiane, buses are rarely seen, and local residents mostly rely on private cars and motorcycles for travel, which is a significant difference from the developed public transportation in our country." Therefore, accelerating public transportation construction and opening up the urban artery have become urgent issues for Vientiane to seek economic development.

After obtaining the project bidding information, we immediately set off for Vientiane, "Yuan Kun was the first person to learn about the project bidding information. He believes that only through in-depth on-site research can we accurately understand what problems customers need to solve and what services they hope to receive, and bidding work can be targeted. The project needs cannot be fully understood, and subsequent work cannot be carried out. Moreover, the local language in Laos is Lao, and language barriers are also a challenge. We need to go to the local area to have the opportunity to solve these problems, "said Yuan Kun.

According to the current situation of urban transportation in Vientiane, if we want to quickly solve the problem of transportation capacity and meet the travel needs of citizens in a short period of time, the advantage of BRT in terms of transportation volume is more suitable for the national conditions of Laos. According to the project plan, the BRT line constructed by Hisense will basically cover two main roads in Vientiane City, as well as popular tourist attractions and distribution points such as Vientiane Wadai International Airport, Vientiane Tower, and Arc de Triomphe, forming a backbone network of urban rapid transit that covers the entire city, helping to clear the city's main arteries and achieve urban transportation upgrading.

It is understood that the construction period of the project is 14 months. By constructing control center ITS, platform ITS, and vehicle ITS, a real-time, accurate, and efficient transportation comprehensive management and control system will be created for Vientiane. At the same time, a passenger service standard system with "standard lines, standard operations, standard stations, standard maintenance, and standard vehicles" will be established to standardize passenger service standards.

After completion, citizens can obtain accurate and convenient guidance services through information displays located on platforms and vehicles. Information such as which stations the route passes through, when the next bus arrives, how much the fare is, and the degree of congestion is clear at a glance, making public transportation more comfortable, convenient, safe, user-friendly, and affordable.

For developing country markets where infrastructure is still relatively weak, on the one hand, it is product capabilities, and on the other hand, it is necessary to provide a set of intelligent transportation models and standards based on mature experience for the local market. "said Wang Dong, Deputy Chief Designer of the International Business Department of Hisense Network Technology Company.

It is reported that in this Laos project, Hisense Network Technology Company formed a bidding team for the Laos project, which is synchronized and linked domestically and internationally. Through overseas research and domestic support, after a round of group meetings and a review of photo materials, a construction plan that truly solves the public transportation problem in Vientiane was created, and ultimately won among the seven participating companies in the bidding.

Mou Sangang, the general manager of Hisense Network Technology's international business department, attributed winning from numerous bidders to three reasons: more experience, lower costs, and better understanding of customers.

In response, Mou Sangang, General Manager of the International Business Department of Hisense Network Technology Company, has undertaken multiple BRT projects in China, including Nanning BRT, Chengdu BRT, and Yichang BRT. Overseas, Hisense has successfully won the bid for intelligent public transportation, smart highways, and urban traffic signal control system projects in Ethiopia, exploring a localized sea going model that deeply solves traffic problems from a customer perspective.

Compared to foreign cities, the transportation situation in domestic cities is more complex. Hisense has withstood the severe tests in China, accumulated rich case experience, and can basically cover overseas demand. In addition, due to more efficient manpower and supply chain, Chinese enterprises have more advantages in quoting similar products compared to European and American competitors. Mou Sangang further emphasized that Hisense will make targeted solutions based on the characteristics of each city, Compared to the solutions of foreign bidders, it will be more grounded and closer to the needs of customers. This is also the fundamental reason why Hisense is able to 'wrestle' with international big brand opponents

Previously, Jia Shaoqian, Chairman and President of Hisense Group, emphasized on multiple occasions in public that the next important breakthrough for Hisense's internationalization is the opening up of the B2B industry.

As the core force of Hisense's B2B industry going global, Hisense has been adhering to the development strategy of "technology based enterprise" since its deployment in the field of smart transportation in 1988. Through independent innovation, Hisense has continuously provided enterprises with competitive strength for growth. Its products and solutions have been applied in 176 cities across the country. In December 2021, the Hisense Shandong Expressway consortium won the bid for the Ethiopian smart bus project. In April of this year, the Hisense smart highway project was launched in Ethiopia. In early May, a consortium formed by Hisense and Shandong Expressway won the bid for the Addis Ababa Traffic Management Center Signal Project.

We have a strong technical foundation and rich experience accumulation, "said Mou Sangang. Currently, Hisense has explored a localized sea going model that starts from the customer's perspective and deeply solves traffic problems.

From winning the bid for the Ethiopian smart bus project in 2021, opening the first order for smart transportation to go to sea, to signing the sustainable urban transportation project in Vientiane, Laos, Hisense Smart Expressway, urban traffic signal control system, and BRT have successively gone abroad. Hisense Smart Transportation's overseas layout has gradually expanded from single point landing to multi-point flowering, and the space for smart transportation to go to sea has been gradually opened.

"Hisense will adhere to the determination of 'making a project a model, a base, and a thorough project', make the Vientiane sustainable urban transportation project a model in Southeast Asia, help Laos to achieve upgrading of urban public transportation, and create a new model of intelligent transportation in the construction practice of the 'the Belt and Road'," said Mou Sangang.
