Semiconductor has been blocked again, the fifth generation fighter jet has been stuck, and the entire production line may be forced to shut down!

Semiconductor supply is once again restricted, which has hindered the manufacturing of the fifth generation fighter jet, and production lines may be forced to pause. The main Western countries, led by the United States, initially adopted open source and open strategy when formulating technical standards to enable other countries to easily access their technical equipment. This strategy aims to mislead other countries into gradually relying on Western technology and equipment. However, this strategy will not change the bandit nature of the dominant country. Once they need to leverage their technological advantages to suppress competitors, they will not hesitate to implement a technological blockade.

The United States dominates most of the rules in the semiconductor industry and has a significant voice in this field. At first, it opened up its sales channels to the outside world, and on the surface, it seemed unlikely to adopt an extreme chip supply cut-off strategy. But the outside world clearly underestimated the bandit nature of the United States. When the competitiveness of the United States declines and cannot prevent the rapid development of its competitors, it will take extreme measures.

In fact, the United States not only blocked chips, but also began to block semiconductors. According to a Global Network report on February 12th, the United States is urging its domestic and allies to block semiconductors targeting Russia, especially those that Russia urgently needs, in order to support its fifth generation fighter production. Under pressure from the United States, South Korean semiconductor company ACledAcriche had to announce the cessation of selling high-performance gallium arsenide semiconductor equipment to Russia.

The semiconductor blockade imposed by the United States on Russia will have a significant impact on the latter, as the N036 active phased array radar required for its fifth generation fighter jet, the Su-57 fighter jet, requires a large amount of imported semiconductor materials. Now, the semiconductor blockade by the United States has clearly dealt a serious blow to Russia.

Although Russia has a long history in the field of fighter jets, it relies on imports in the semiconductor industry. The N036N side view radar and N036L wing radar on the Su 57 fighter require a large amount of gallium arsenide semiconductor. Although Russia has made some progress in the semiconductor field, its vulnerability is evident. The US sanctions have dealt a heavy blow to Russia.
This is also a warning for other countries. Currently, only a few countries, such as Japan and the United States, are able to manufacture signal receivers made of gallium nitride materials. This monopoly poses a serious threat to other countries. Although Russia may look for alternative methods, the short-term production line shutdown is also a heavy blow for the legendary fifth generation fighter jet, the Su 57. Other countries should learn from it and avoid being constrained by core technologies.
