Unisoc Launches Flagship THA6412, the Second Generation of THA6 Series, to Power Automotive Electronics Upgrades

On August 21, at the 2024 Unisoc Partner Conference, Unisoc officially launched the THA6412, a flagship product of the second generation THA6 series. This chip, following the launch of the THA6206 in July, is another flagship R52+ core automotive MCU that has passed ASILD product certification. THA6412 boasts comprehensive upgrades in safety, reliability, computing power, and real-time performance, along with a series of unique advantages. It offers powerful support for the intelligent upgrade of automotive electronics.

Yang Bin, Deputy General Manager of Unisoc's Automotive Electronics Business Unit, introduced THA6412 as a star product that inherits the high performance, high reliability, and high security advantages of the THA6 family. It features a large capacity, powerful peripherals, and a high pin count. The chip utilizes an Arm Cortex-R52+ core with a clock speed of up to 400MHz, and incorporates a V8 reduced instruction set, providing robust computing power. The core includes a lock-step function, enabling virtualisation and multi-task isolation, ensuring a secure and stable operating environment for complex automotive electronic systems.

THA6412 integrates the latest version of Bosch's GTM4.1, supporting high-precision PWM. It also includes a built-in hardware RDC module, supporting both software and hardware decoding for rotary encoder decoding. These features make it perfectly suitable for zonal control scenarios, especially applications such as multi-in-one electric drive controllers, engines, chassis zonal control, and regional control.

Yang Bin affirmed, As the electronic and electrical architecture continues to evolve, the demand for automotive chips is increasing. Unisoc will continue to invest in research and development, continuously launching more high-performance, safe, and reliable automotive chips to provide strong support for the intelligent upgrade of the automotive industry.

The launch of THA6412 further strengthens Unisoc's leading position in the automotive electronics field. This chip, with its outstanding performance and reliability, will help automotive electronic systems achieve more efficient, intelligent, and secure operation, driving the rapid development of the automotive industry towards intelligence and connectivity.
